Made by American Bisque & marked USA, this bell-shaped cookie jar is probably 1930/40's circa. Its all-over crazing is quite common for soft ceramic items of this age & its minor paint loss on some of the lettering is because the color is put on after the glazing, so it probably can be touched up. With the exception of the hairline its in very good condition for its age...the small nip you see at the bottom was done during its manufacturing process because its smooth & glazed. I would presume that the bell in the lid is original, it is as I found it. Its a lot cleaner than it looks in the pictures, the design in the bottom causes shadows but a light wash wouldn't hurt. It's 10" tall with the lid, 7" without, weighs 4 pounds & measures 7.75" across the bottom...a unique addition to anyone's cookie jar or American Bisque collection!
